Why now

Businesses have bought into AI. Few have changed how the work gets done.

The tools are in place. What's missing is someone inside the business with the skills to rebuild a process around them.

84%

of UK organisations are now deploying AI, up from 40% a year earlier

<5%

of UK employees use AI to change how their work is actually done

97%

of UK organisations report at least one AI skills gap

40%

of the available AI productivity gain is missed through talent gaps

Who it's for

For employers

Build AI capability inside your business without hiring or paying consultants.

  • Use levy you've already paid. No extra cost, and non-levy employers are funded through a levy gift.
  • Measured results. Cycle time, error rate and hours saved, reviewed at months 3, 9 and 15.
  • Skills that stay. The method is written down and owned by your business, ready for the next process.

For learners

Gain a Level 4 qualification in AI and automation while you keep your job and salary.

  • No cost to you. Apprentices never pay for their training.
  • Learn on real work. You improve a process from your own team, with no day release.
  • Your own coach. Monthly one-to-one support for the full 15 months.

The programme

How the apprenticeship works

Your learner picks one real, recurring process in their own team and works through four stages with their coach.

  1. 1

    Identify

Learner and manager agree which process to improve and how its current cost is measured.

  2. 2

    Build

The process is rebuilt using AI and automation, removing the repetitive manual handling.

  3. 3

    Scale

The new version runs live and reports on its own performance week by week.

  4. 4

    Embed

The method is documented so your team can repeat it on the next process.

Funding

See how much of your levy is going unused

Employers with a pay bill over £3 million pay the apprenticeship levy every month. Funds now expire after 12 months if you don't use them.

If you don't pay the levy, a levy gift from another employer covers the full cost, so you pay nothing either way.

£17m

Funds 3 learners a yearAt £18,000 each, from levy you've already paid.

Estimate only. Based on the England levy rate of 0.5% of annual pay bill, less a £15,000 allowance. Funding is confirmed by the training provider before enrolment.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Who delivers the training?

The apprenticeship is delivered by Peak Apprenticeships, the training provider. Rebuild Apprenticeships helps employers and learners get started and handles your enquiry.

Does the learner need time out of work?

No. The programme runs over 15 months in the workplace with no day release. Learners have monthly one-to-one coaching alongside their normal role.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Levy-paying employers use £18,000 from their levy account per learner. If you don't pay the levy, a levy gift from another employer covers the cost. Learners never pay for apprenticeship training.

Who is eligible?

Learners need to be employed and working in England, with their employer's support. The training provider confirms eligibility and funding before enrolment.

What qualification will the learner get?

The Level 4 AI & Automation Practitioner apprenticeship, completed through an independent end-point assessment.

Can more than one person from our business take part?

Yes. Many employers enrol two or three people from neighbouring teams, so they can improve the hand-offs between departments together.
